      FAQ

Is the IB Programme recognized in India?

Yes, the IB Diploma has been recognized by the Association of Indian Universities since 1983. Additionally, IB Courses have been recognized since 2016, with eligibility for students scoring 24 points with 3 subjects at Higher Level (HL) and 3 subjects at Standard Level (SL). This recognition applies to all universities in India.

What are the prospects of IB students getting admission into Indian universities?

Many Indian universities only consider predicted scores until the end of June, while IB results are released on July 6. This leads to a surge in transcript requests in May. So, students must seek assistance from their IB Diploma Programme Coordinator or College Counselor to avoid any delay.

Popular Indian universities accepting IB include the University of Mumbai, University of Delhi, Ashoka University, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, FLAME University, etc.

Can IB students appear for Medicine and Engineering entrance exams?

Yes, since the IB Programme is recognized by all universities in India, students can take entrance tests for professional courses. These exams are usually held in April/May, coinciding with IB exams in May. Students must balance preparation for both exams.

What is the recognition of IB PYP in India?

The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) is well recognized in India by educational institutions. It offers a strong foundation for students’ academic and personal growth. Many Indian schools offer the PYP curriculum, and completing the programme can ease transition to higher education.
